More protests against blackface Zwarte Piet planned

Protest group Kick Out Zwarte Piet is plainning at least three more protests against blackface Zwarte Piet in the coming weeks, the organization announced on Thursday, ANP reports.

The group will hold "peaceful protests" at Sinterklaas' arrival in Leiden on November 19th, in Utrecht on November 26th and Rotterdam on November 207th.

This past weekend Kick Out Zwarte Piet also wanted to demonstrate at Sinterklaas' national arrival in Maassluis, but never made it that far. The protest ended in nearly 200 people being arrested in Rotterdam.

According to DUIC, these protests are supported by groups lice Internationale Socialisten, Reason against Racis and Unify Movement. Kick Out Zwarte Piet is calling on the public to join their peaceful protests and bring their own signs, stickers, flyers and megaphones along.
