Netherlands baseball team wins European championship

The Netherlands baseball team won the European championship for the 22nd time on Sunday by beating Spain 3-2 in the finals in Hoofddorp, NU.nl reports Dutch captain Steve Janssen led his team to victory, with Yurendell de Caster scoring the deciding point by hitting a single set with the bases loaded, according to the news site. The Spaniards took silver for the second time ever. Over the last decades they generally ended in third place in the European championship, behind the Netherlands and Italy.
