Dutch street assassination suspects hiding in Dubai: report

Dozens of Dutch criminals involved in drug trafficking, street assassinations and white-collar crime are using Dubai as a hiding place due to the fact that there is no extradition treaty between the Arab desert state and the Netherlands, the Telegraaf reports. According to the newspaper, Dutch intelligence services know about "several dozen" criminals hiding out in Dubai. The Dutch Ministry of Security and Justice wants to arrange an extradition treaty with Dubai before the end of the year. The newspaper also reports that some are hiding in Dubai from assassins, including a number of criminals involved in the gang war that's been ongoing in Amsterdam for years. Due to the strict rules, checks and high penalties, assassins aren't keen to act in the United Arab Emirates, according to the newspaper.
