Taser used in robbery of disabled, elderly Amstelveen couple

An elderly, disabled couple was violently robbed in their home on Stieltjestraat in Amstelveen late last month. The police released more information about the case on Opsporing Verzocht in the hopes that tips from the public will lead to a resolution. The elderly couple, age 71 and 64 years, live on the first floor of an apartment building on Stieltjesstraat. The man has several illnesses and an amputated leg. The woman is bed-bound and hardly ever comes outside. Around 6:10 p.m. on Friday, July 29th, a man and a woman can be seen entering the apartment building an walking towards the couple's apartment. They knocked on the door. The elderly man opened and was immediately threatened with a knife. The male suspect demanded money from him. During the struggle the elderly man was severely assaulted and tasered up to four times, after which he was bound up. The suspects then turned their attentions to the elderly woman, who gave them her wallet with a small amount of money in it. The perpetrators took off with a small amount of money and some personal items. There does not seem to be an obvious motive for the robbery - the elderly couple has no known enemies and does not have a lot of money. They also don't know the perpetrators. The male perpetrator has tanned skin and is between 1.65 and 1.70 meters tall. He was wearing a dark jacket with a horizontal reflective stripe on the back. He was also wearing a black motorcycle helmet with a transparent visor. The word "bezorg" was written on the back of the helmet in white letters. The female perpetrator also has tanned skin and is about 1.7 meters tall. She was dressed in a black robe, a black headscarf, white sandals and was carrying a backpack. Most of her face was covered with a veil and she wore sunglasses. In addition to general information related to the case, the police are looking for a specific witness - a cyclist can be seen outside the building as the perpetrators enter. The police would love to talk to this person as he or she almost definitely saw the perpetrators enter.
