Dutch cop killed in Bonaire shootout: report

At least one police officer was killed in a shootout with robbery suspects in the Bonaire capital of Kralendijk late Wednesday night, according to local news reports. Police agents responding to an armed robbery report exchanged gunfire at the scene at about 10 p.m., website 721news.com says, citing radio station Live99FM. The officer killed was reportedly a Dutch citizen. According to a Facebook post by radio station Live99FM, paramedics worked hard to stabilize the wounded officer for transport to hospital - the officer lost a lot of blood. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead. The Bonaire police are investigating. Investigators are calling on witnesses to come forward.
