Seven easyJet flights cancelled in Schiphol pilot strike

EasyJet cancelled seven flights on Thursday morning due to their Schiphol-based pilots striking for a better collective bargaining agreement. The strike was from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. A spokesperson for Schiphol Airport told news wire ANP that the consequences for passengers were less than expected. Passengers on the affected flights were kept informed via SMS and email. This is the third time Dutch easyJet pilots lay down their tools in protest for a better collective bargaining agreement. They want paid sick leave, more rest between flights and better pension plans. According to union VNV, the strikes will continue until easyJet meet their requirements. EasyJet stated that they are "disappointed" by the "unnecessary actions".
