Dutch government invests in improving care for disabled people
State Secretary Martin van Rijn of Public Health allocated 13.2 million euros for improving care for disabled people and getting it ready for the future, he wrote to parliament on Friday, ANP reports.
"They are dependent on care their whole lives and we as society are willing to organize it for them." Van Rijn wrote. "That creates an obligation to continuously look at what can be done differently. How do we care for them in the best possible way, now and in the future?"
In the Netherlands about 113 thousand people have a mental, physical or sensory impairment, or a combination of the three.
