Dutch woman back home after three months in Qatar prison

After three anxiety filled months in a prison in Qatar, Utrecht woman Laura de Bije is back home. She arrived in the Netherlands on Thursday morning, according to RTL Nieuws. Laura was arrested in Doha, Qatar after she went to the police to report being drugged and raped. She was taken into custody and charged with having sex outside marriage. This charge is known as "zina" under Islamic law and is considered a very serious offense in the strict Islamic country. A court in Doha found her guilty of having sex outside marriage and sentenced her to one year of probation and a fine of 750 euros. She was allowed to leave the country once she paid the fine.
