Uber launches taxi service for Amsterdam cyclists

On Thursday Uber launched a new service in Amsterdam exclusively aimed at cyclists. Cyclists in the city can now order a taxi equipped with a bicycle rack. "Very useful if you have a flat tire", a spokesperson for the company said to Het Parool. It can also come in handy after a fall, a long bike ride, a party or when it rains - all the times when cycling is not the best option. UberBIKE taxis are equipped with a bike rack that can fit one city bike or two racing bikes. The service costs 4 euros on top of the normal rate. It is currently only available in Amsterdam, but if it is successful Uber will extend it to the rest of the Randstad.
