Passengers trapped, heavily injured after Dutch bus crashes in Belgium
Several people were injured in an accident involving a truck and a bus on Belgian highway E17 in Moeskroen. The bus involved was heading from the Netherlands to Paris carrying 50 people. Between 15 and 20 of them were injured, at least one seriously, according to NOS.
The truck driver were seriously injured. Between 15 and 20 bus passengers also sustained injuries, according to the Belgian broadcaster Focus WTV.
Three people are still stuck in the bus - the driver and two children - and firefighters are working to get them out. They appear to be unharmed, according to the Belgian broadcaster. The other bus passengers are gathered at the side of the highway. Some are receiving treatment from ambulance workers.
The accident happened around noon on the E17, close to the French border. The bus involved is that of Bovo Tours. According to NOS, it was carrying both Dutch and Belgian passengers.
