Compromising photo with underage girl forces mayor’s resignation

Renkum mayor Jean Paul Gebben handed in his resignation following the commotion around a photo showing him in a seemingly intimate position with an underage girl. The party leaders in Renkum was informed about Gebben's decision on Tuesday night. According to Gebben, the commotion upset the relationship between him and the town council, NOS reports. Gebben will be replaced by Hein Bloemen. He was previously mayor of Berkelland and spent years as an alderman in neighboring municipality Arnhem.
