Hardcore Ajax fans banned from Feyenoord rivalry match in racism row

Ajax decided to accept the professional football prosecutor's settlement proposal for the club's punishment following an incident in which an effigy of Feyenoord player Kenneth Vermeer was lynched, the club announced in a statement. The Amsterdam club will pay a 10 thousand euro fine and their hardcore fans will not be allowed to attend the next match against Feyenoord in the Amsterdam Arena. The proposal consists of a 10 thousand euro fine and the requirement that parts 424 and 425, also known as vak 410, be empty during the next Ajax vs Feyenoord match in the Arena. Those sections are used by the hardcore Ajax fans. Season ticket holders from those sections will also not be allowed to attend the match in any other part of the arena. The incident happened during an Ajax vs Feyenoord match on February 7th. A doll made to look like Feyenoord goalkeeper Kennet Vermeer was lynched in the stadium by an Ajax supporter. Ajax supporters also displayed banners with offensive texts, chanted offensive slogans and set off fireworks.
