Amsterdam red light window, Arena pop-up cafes a hit

On Thursday night a number of lucky Amsterdam residents and visitors had dinner in one of seven unusual locations, ranging from a window brothel in the Red Light District to the turf in the Amsterdam Arena. The night was a great success. Each one of the locations sold out and only positive responses can be seen on social media. Each chosen location was never intended to be a restaurant and did not have a kitchen. Diners ordered their dinners with their smartphones and a bicycle deliverer brought their meal. "Completely excellent!" and "It was fantastic, thank you!" are some of the comments that can be seen on the Facebook page of the event, titled Amsterdam eet uit. One commenter posted a video of having dinner next to Ryan Gosling in the Madame Tussaud's wax museum. Dinner in the window of a Red Light District brothel was a bit more of a strange experience and somewhat uncomfortable. "The people are really watching you from the street, like: 'what are these people doing?' And do they really belong behind a window or not?" one said to AT5. He adds that the window brothel was a conscious choice and "maybe the best location".
