Belgium: Netherlands “hazy” with sharing terrorism intelligence

The information exchange between the Netherlands and Belgium regarding suicide bomber Ibrahim El Bakraoui was "hazy", also on the Belgian side, according to Belgian Deputy Prime Minister Jan Jambon said to BNR. "In this particular case, there were mistakes along our side and along the Turkish side. We were warned late and in a somewhat unusual way", he said. Jambon would not comment about whether there were mistakes on the Netherlands' side as well. "That is not for me to judge" is generally pleased with his cooperation with Minister Ard van der Steur of Security and Justice. "I work well with Ard van der Steur, including at European level." Van der Steur is currently under fire in Dutch politics regarding how he handled information on El Bakraoui.
