Univ. Amsterdam management shake-up continues

Hans Amman, vice chairman of the University of Amsterdam's executive board, handed in his resignation. He fulfilled the position for two years, NRC reported on Tuesday. Amman claims personal reasons for the official cause of his resignation. But sources told the newspaper that he was unhappy with the current application procedures for new board members. The university is getting ready to appoint Geert ten Dam, professor of education, the new administrative chairman and engineer Karen Maex the rector magnificus. Amman was responsible for the financial portfolio within the board. He, Louise Gunning and Dymph vand en Boom formed the executive board students rebelled against last year with the occupation of the Maagdenhuis, among other things. Gunning resigned in April last year.
