Geert Wilders hate speech trial delayed to October
The hate speech trial against PVV leader Geert Wilders will only start on October 31st, the court in The Hague confirmed to RTL Nieuws.
Wilders is being prosecuted for statements he made in The Hague in March 2014. He asked people in a cafe in The Hague whether they want more or fewer Moroccans in the city, leading them to chant "fewer, fewer, fewer".
The trial was delayed because the magistrate still needs to investigate a number of things. The court determined the hearing dates based on that, setting a pre-trial hearing for March 18th and the start of the proper trial for October 31st. A ruling is expected in December.
