Dutch, Australian skiers credited with rescuing Russian girl, 5
A Dutch skier and an Australian Skier rescued a five year old Russian girl who fell from a ski lift in the Austrian town of Kaprun on Friday, according to Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung.
The girl was sitting next to her ski instructor on the ski lift when she slipped through the safety bar. The ski instructor managed to grab her, but could only hold on to her for a short while. The two skiers saw what was happening and rushed to help. They unsuccessfully tried to catch the girl, but at least managed to break her 6 meter long fall.
A helicopter airlifted the girl to the hospital with minor injuries.
