Health insurance switching down substantially

The number of people switching health insurers this year is significantly lower than in previous years, comparison site Zorgkiezer.nl announced on Thursday, the Telegraaf reports. Today is the last day consumers can cancel their health insurance. After that they have until February 1st to find a new one. Last year 1.1 million people made a change. Up until Christmas this year, the number of switchers was 20 percent lower than in previous years. According to Zorgkiezer, there are several reasons for this. Firstly the health insurance premium increased by only 3 euros. There were also no major changes, like last year's debate on free choice of doctor. And insurers spent less money and time on marketing campaigns and advertisements.
