Suspect sketch released in Amsterdam mistaken identity shooting

The police released a composite sketch and more information about the murder of 37-year-old Haydar Zengin in an office building on Derkinderstraat in Amsterdam on October 15th on television program Opsporing Verzocht on Tuesday. The investigators hope that information from the public may lead to a resolution in this case. Zengin was sitting at his desk in the office building, where he did administration work, when an as yet unidentified perpetrator opened fire on him. He died in the office. It is unclear whether Zengin let the gunman in or if he entered by himself. Zengin's body was found at 3:10 p.m. on October 15th. The gunman left some time before that. On Wednesday, November 11th, another shooting happened in the same building. The victim is the director of the business Zengin worked for. He was shot multiple times by a gunman who entered the office and opened fire. He was critically injured but survived the incident. The shooting happened around 4:45 p.m. The police are investigating whether these two shootings are related. One of the possibilities the police is that Zengin was mistaken for the November victim when he was killed and that the director of the company was the intended target. Zengin used the desk he was shot at for only three weeks before his murder. His family also stated that there is a striking physical resemblance between the two victims. The suspected gunman was filmed on Suze Robertsonstraat shortly before the shooting on November 11th. Around 4:40 p.m. he was again caught on camera walking past a garage in the direction of Derkinderstraat. After the shooting he fled the same way he came - via Theodoor van Hoytemastraat and Suze Robertsonstraat and once again went past the garage. Three separate witnesses gave descriptions for a composite sketch independently of each other. The suspect is about 1.75 to 1.8 meters tall with lightly tanned to white skin. He had a lightly colored stubble on his face and wore a dark hat. The police are calling on anyone with any information relating to this case to please come forward.
