Amsterdam penthouse likely country’s most expensive at €10 million

The Pontsteiger building currently being constructed in Houthaven, Amsterdam, will likely house the largest and most expensive penthouse in the Netherlands, estimated to cost more than 10 million euros, according to the Vastgoedjournaal. The price is estimated based on the square meter price of the smallest apartment. That apartment is 100 square meters large and costs 625 thousand euros. The penthouse will be 1,440 square meters large, and if the price to square meter is the same as the smallest apartment, will cost more than 10 million euros. This penthouse thus breaks the record for the largest and most expensive in the Netherlands. The record was previously held by the upper floor of De Rotterdam in Rotterdam - 750 square meters sold to American buyers for 3.44 million euros. Though most of the Pontseiger's apartments will likely be sold to Dutch residents, the Vastgoedjournaal expects that this largest penthouse, and the just smaller one of 880 m2, will be sold to foreign parties.
