Missing Dutch family found camping on Sardinia

The Italian police found a Dutch family that was believed to be missing in Sardinia for several days. They are unharmed. The family, consisting of a couple and two kids, was hiking and camping in a mountainous region that has no cellphone reception, AD reports. The Italian authorities launched a extensive search on Monday after the family's rented car was noticed standing seemingly abandoned on a road in the mountains. According to the English tourist who called the police, the car had been there since Saturday. The authorities feared that the family was lost in the mountains and could not find their way back. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs contacted the family's relatives and the Italian authorities and concluded that the family was never officially missing, NU reports. The family arrived on the Italian island in the Mediterranean for a holiday on Friday.
