Fmr. Europe MP suspected of luring girls with cocaine, cash

Former PVV European Parliamentarian Daniel van der Stoep is suspected of trying to solicit sex with underage girls, the Public Prosecutor confirmed on Wednesday. The Public Prosecutor believes that Van der Stoep abused his position and offered at least three girls money, gifts and cocaine in exchange for sex, ANP reports. This happened between 2012 and 2014, the girls were 15 and 16 years old at the time. The former Euro Parliamentarian's lawyer Carene van Vliet claims that her client committed no crime and that the girls themselves confirm this, news wire ANP reports. "It is evident that nothing happened. The sole purpose of this is to damage him. He will never escape this, because where there's smoke, there's a fire", the lawyer said. Van der Stoep spent two periods in the European Parliament between July 2009 and July 2014. He initially represented the PVV, but gave up his seat after he caused an accident under the influence of liquor. From December 2011 he was an independent member of the European Parliament.
