Salvation Army also collecting refugee donations

The Salvation Army is now also helping with coordinating all relief operations for refugees in the Netherlands, focusing on the collection, sorting and distribution of clothing - something that is sorely needed, according to a spokesperson. "In their enthusiasm, people have donated all kinds of clothes", the spokesperson said to broadcaster NOS. "What you then have to deal with is many of the same items, or none of the right size. We will ensure that we adapts supply to demand." The charity organization has 1,400 points across the Netherlands where people can drop off the clothing they want to donate. In this the Salvation Army is working with the Red Cross, refugee organization Vluchtelingenwerk Nederland and the central agency for the reception of asylum seekers COA.
