Dance Valley “House Grandpa” a YouTube sensation

Johan de Vries, the 83 year old grandfather from Haarlem, has become an internet sensation. His smooth dance moves, most recently at Dance Valley in Spaarnwoude, has gained him the internet nickname "House Grandpa". De Vries got a ticket to Dance Valley as a birthday present from his son, he said in an interview with Het Parool, but this is not his first festival. He visited his first dance festival in 2006, and since then he is unstoppable. Videos of grandpa De Vries' smooth moves - ingenious footwork, a touch of twist and jive, maybe some boogie woogie - can be seen all over the internet. The video of him dancing on the Edit festival in particular was a hit. "The counter is now on 7.5 million worldwide I believe. My grandson keeps an eye on it" he said to Het Parool. The House Grandpa mostly visits festivals alone. His children and grandchildren rarely, if ever, acompany him. :But they like it and give me festival tickets as gifts. Only my youngest son thinks it's a bit exaggerated. Showing off, he says. But it is not about that at all. I do not need to be in the spotlight, but i like the music and want to dance." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HguAQ40jJWY&feature=youtu.be
