Guus Hiddink may resign early from Dutch football manager role

There is a good chance that Danny Blind will present the Dutch team selection for the the important European Championship qualifying double against Iceland and Turkey on August 28th. In the next evaluation in a few weeks from now, Guus Hiddink will let the KNVB know whether he will be taking a step back as coach of Oranje, the Telegraaf reports. Hiddink will remain involved with the Dutch football team and is considering the interpretation of his role as a senior coach. "I have my ideas about a role as senior coach. Before making a decision about it and announcing it, I want to explain those thoughts to the people in my area. How long will it take? Oh, I could come out with it within an hour." Hiddink said to the Telegraaf. This means that the construction that KNVB chose last year with Blind as the future head coach and manager after 2016, may now be accelerated. The win against Latvia and the increased opportunity for Oranje to be placed in the 2016 European Championships in the last four qualifiers, has made conditions favorable to accelerate Blind's appointment as head coach. The decision will be made in the next evaluation, which will happen in a few weeks.
