Father may sue protective services after death of daughter, 8

The father of the 8 year old girl who died after falling from a flat in Hoogeveen on Sunday night, is considering taking legal action against protective services. He feels that these services neglected to keep an eye on his daughter, despite repeated requests to do so. "The father thinks that several protective services and social workers did not listen him." his lawyer Tina Dijkstra said to RTL Nieuws. "He contacted them repeatedly to warn of a tragedy. He also urged that his daughter be placed somewhere else because he believed she was not safe with her mother." According to the lawyer, the man will not press charges immediately, but will consider it after having time to deal with his emotions and grief. The girl's 35 year old mother is still a suspect in the case. She is being questioned by the police to determine her role in what happened. A spokesperson for the police told RTL that the interrogations are difficult as the woman is very emotional.
