Dutch man in nude Malaysia mountain photo "doing well" in jail

Dylan, the 23 year old Dutch tourist who was arrested in Malaysia for taking nude photos on the sacred mountain Mount Knabalu, is doing well. Dylan's lawyer, Ronny Cham told RTL Nieuws that he's had contact with Dylan. "It's going fine with him", the lawyer said. Dylan will have to remain for at least 4 days. It's not clear yet what will happen next. "It depends on what the prosecution is going to do", Cham said. Dylan could be facing a fine and a prison sentence of up to 3 months. But Melle Garschagen, RTL's Southeast Asia correspondent, thinks the matter will eventually die down. The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs is aware of the case and will offer the "usual support". The Ministry did not explain to the newspaper exactly what the usual support entails. "If you violate the local traditions, the consequences are quite harsh. Especially in that are where they believe in the divine power of the mountain. But I expect that someone from the capital will eventually call and ask whether this is really necessary. Tourism is very important for the country."
