Two-year sentence wanted in street musician murder

The Public Prosecutor demanded a 2 year sentence in a juvenile institution against a 17 year old boy suspected in the murder of a street musician in Zwolle. The boy's case appeared in the court in Zwolle on Monday. The suspect is charged with murder and attempted murder. On December 2nd last year, the boy stabbed 54 year old street musician Zdravko Vazov at a supermarket in Zwolle. Vazov later died of his injuries. A bystander who tried to intervene was also injured during the incident. According to experts, the boy had significantly diminished responsibility at the time of the stabbing. The Public Prosecutor therefore demanded that he be put in a juvenile institution. The two years that the Prosecutor demanded is the maximum juvenile detention period for 17 year olds.
