Dutch king responds to "fuck the king" discussion

King Willem-Alexander has finally commented on the "fuck the king" discussion. In an interview with American journalists at Palace Noordeinde, the king said that as a person he obliviously has an opinion, but as king he can not give it, NOS reports. The American journalists are on a working visit to the Netherlands prior to the King's visit to America. One of the journalists asked King Willem-Alexander what he thinks about the royal insult discussion. According to NOS, the king said that he believes the law should be discussed, he is following the debate and will accept what comes out of it. Early this month the Public Prosecutor decided to prosecute activist Abulkasim Al-Jaberi for saying “fuck the king, fuck the queen, fuck the royal house” during a demonstration against Zwarte Piet on November 16th last year. The prosecution was later put on hold for further investigation after a storm of protest, including the "fuck de koning" being spray-painted on the Royal Palace in Amsterdam and a "fuck racism, fuck the king" rally.
