Massive solar park going up at Schiphol

Solar Energy Works plans to build the largest solar park in the Netherlands near Schiphol, with some help from Schiphol Area Development and the municipality of Haarlemmermeer, NU reports. Schiphol Area Development will lease the land on which the park will be built to Solar Energy Works. Solar Energy Works is responsible for applying for the necessary subsidies and permits. The municipality of Haarlemmermeer will ensure that the environmental permit required for the construction will be issued quickly, SolarEW announced on Wednesday. The solar park will consist of 120 thousand solar panels and be about the size of 52 football fields. The park will be able to supply approximately 4,500 households with power. It is not yet clear how much the construction of the park will cost or when it will be completed.
