Earthquake rumbles through Groningen
There was an earthquake in Appingedam, Groningen this morning, the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KMNI) reports. The earthquake happened at 11:03 a.m. and had a magnitude of 2.3 on the Richter scale.
The earthquake was caused by gas extraction in Groningen. KMNI received several dozen reports from people who felt the quake.
According to the AD, this is the 12th earthquake in gas extraction area this month.
