Dad and baby injured in stabbing, teen arrested

The police arrested a 17-year-old boy from Assen on Thursday afternoon, accused in a knife attack in his home. The boy was inside the property on Geulstraat and stabbed a man, the police reports. He is suspected of attempted manslaughter or murder. A one-year-old baby was also injured during the incident, but police would not say how. Both the man and the baby were taken to be treated in the Wilhelmina Hospital in Assen. The perpetrator fled the scene and was arrested on Nobellaan. An investigation is ongoing, police said.
