Man who threw votive at royals back in prison for stalking
The man who threw a votive at the Golden Carriage on Prinsjesdag 2010 has received a prison sentence for stalking a woman. The 33 year old Erwin Lensink was sentenced to 180 days in prison, 100 of which are probationary. Lensink appealed against the ruling and will stay at home until that hearing.
According to the court, Lensink called the victim's parents several times. He also posted derogatory, insinuating and misleading texts about the woman on a website and on Twitter. He also wrote similar texts on the Facebook pages of the woman's colleagues.
It is not clear why Lensink chose this woman to victimize. According to the court that makes the situation all the more frightening to her.
In 2010 the man besieged Queen Beatrix's carriage because he felt that she was on the throne unlawfully. He spent almost two years in custody, but eventually got no penalty.
