13 years for Cambodian vagrant; killed Dutch mom, daughter

The court in Cambodia today sentenced a homeless man to 13 years in prison for the murder of a Dutch woman and her baby daughter during an attempted robbery at their home in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The 31 year old Daphna Beerdsen's body was found in April. Her 19 year old daughter, Dana, died in hospital of her injuries a few days later. Beerdsen worked as a consultant for the United Nations in Cambodia. The 35 year old Chea Phin was arrested two days after the attack. During the trail he confessed to stabbing Beerdsen and her daughter after she had noticed him trying to steal a bicycle. He also stated that he did not specifically target Breedsen's home.
