Perjury arrest for wife of double homicide suspect

Lau. G's ex-wife and son have been arrested for perjury, as the prosecutor believes that the mother and son have made contradictory statements. Lau G. is a notorious criminal and the main suspect in a double-homicide that occurred in Venray in 2006. The ex-wife and son have been taken to the police station to be interrogated, after prosecutor Michiel van IJzerdoorn decided that he believes the pair's testimonies were contradictory, and demanded an investigation into possible perjury. Lau G.'s ex-wife and son separately stated last year that they were familiar with Geert G. (the second suspect in the double homicide), but knew nothing of his or Lau's involvement in the murders. It has been reported that the ex-wife stated on Thursday that she overheard Geert G. say he regretted shooting and killing the two Moroccans in Venray. The former said that she had not told the truth last year, in court on Thursday. The investigation into the double homicide of Karim Fourkour (19) and Foulad Bendalla (23) is close on being concluded, which means that their bodies will be released soon. Lau and Geert G.'s trial is scheduled to begin in February.
