Teen girl dressed as Zwarte Piet beaten up

A 31 year old man was arrested in Almelo during the Sinterklaasintocht for assaulting a 15 year old girl dressed as Zwarte Piet. According to the police the assault took place on the Rosa Luxemburgstreet on Saturday. The man proclaimed to the street that Zwarte Piet is racist, then hit the girl, who is part of the organization around the arrival of Sinterklaas. The girl told the present police officers what happened and the man was arrested and taken to the police station. The victim pressed charges against them man. After questioning the man was released on Sunday. He must appear before the magistrate on November 26th for a summary justice hearing.
