Prison demanded in bleach drinking death
The Public Prosecutor has asked for a nine year prison sentence for the 30 year old man who strangled his partner and then drank chlorine to commit suicide.
The man from Almere claims it was self defense, but the Public Prosecutor does not believe it. The two men were arguing. The Public Prosecutor does however consider the man to have diminished responsibility.
Officers found the two men, who had been in a relationship for several months, in their home in March. Family members who came to visit raised the alarm when no one opened the door. The victim was already dead. The suspect was taken to hospital where he was arrested a few days later.
