Thai police hunt Dutchman for murdering wife with tablet computer

Police in Thailand are searching for a Dutchman suspected of killing his Thai wife. On Tuesday afternoon the police found the body of 35 year old Pornpan Kaewkok-klang on the second floor of her townhouse. A damaged tablet computer was found near her body. Investigator Charnthanapat Salimasakul said that Pornpan's head and face appeared to have been struck with a hard object. Forensic experts say that Pornpan had been dead for at least three days Pornpan's father, 60 year old Kamsorn, went to check on his daughter after he could not reach her for three days. He found her body in the living room. According to Kamsorn his daughter had been with 40 year old Dutchman Matthew Mannen for two years. Mannen's whereabouts are unknown. An English handwritten message reproaching the victim was found on the wall. According to Charnthanapat, neighbours heard the couple fighting on Saturday night and saw Mannen driving away in a pickup truck the next morning. Some of the neighbours say that the couple was fighting about Pornpan's frequent use of Facebook and the Line messaging app. The police think that Mannen killed his wife in a jealous rage and then fled. His picture has been sent to all immigration checkpoints across the country to stop him leaving the country.
