VIDEO: Fall from roof ends 12-hour standoff

A confused man in Arnhem spent hours sitting on the roof of a terraced house in Hilversumstraat. He jumped off the roof when he was approached by an armed police squad. The 29 year old man was able to talk after his jump, but his condition is unknown, Omroep Gelderland reports. He was transferred to the hospital by ambulance. The police have arrested him for the destruction he caused to chimneys and for throwing roof tiles. The man was supposed to have a meeting with the mental health services on Monday, but never showed up. Instead he went to his mother's house and climbed up to the roof. Later the Arnhem man took of all his clothes and provoked the emergency services. The emergency services tried to convince the man to come down, but to no avail. On Tuesday morning they sent an arrest team to get the man off the roof. The man slid off the roof when two armed policemen approached him. He fell about four meters and landed in the front yard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5OqkW0NLQo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTwH8CH3OF8
