The oldest person in the Netherlands has passed away.
Egbertje Leutscher-De Vries from Havelte died on Thursday at the age of 111. She was born on October 2 1902 in Uffelte; for the past ten years she lived in senior citizens home De Molenhof in Havelte. At her 110th birthday she received a surprise telegram from King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima. She said then that one of the secrets of her respectable age was having a cooked egg at breakfast.
