Schiphol set to build new €500m terminal

Schiphol is investing €500 million in a new airport terminal and runway to be opened in 2018, construction magazine Cobouw announces. The airport is also hoping to become one of the most sustainable airports in the world, De Telegraaf reports. According to sources for De Telegraaf, the building will start at Schiphol in 2016. The Netherlands' biggest airports foresees a growth of 52.4 million travelers coming through the airport. This will push the total number of passengers traveling through the airport to 65 million in ten years. In order to reach its goal of coming in the top three most sustainable airports in the world, Schiphol will buy building materials for the runway and terminal accordingly.
