KPN names ex-finance minister CFO
KPN's new CFO position has been given to Jan Kees de Jager. De Jager was Minister of Finance in the Cabinet Rutte I between 2010 and 2012. From August, he will be financial director of the Dutch telecom service, the NOS reports.
The 45-year old ex-Minister was also State Secretary of Finance for three years, in the Cabinet of Jan Peter Balkenende. Outside his political career, De Jager supervised the ICT company that he helped build.
De Jager's salary will be €625,000 per year. He is also in a position to receive a variable bonus for the short term and one for the long term. Both of these bonuses are dependent on how well KPN does under his role as CFO.
"KPN is a beautiful company with a rich history in a dynamic market. I am looking forward to working with my new colleagues, the shareholders and other stakeholders", De Jager said.
Jos Streppel, president of the board of commissioners, is happy with the new CFO. He says that Jan Kees de Jager was the best candidate, combining financial experience with operational leadership in the technology sector. "He is praised for his financial expertise as Minister of Finances in a turbulent financial period in Europe". Streppel tells the NOS.
