Amersfoort pedophile fights community

Convicted pedophile Sytze van der V. wants to start proceedings on the merits of the case, and also wants compensation from mayor Bolsius from Amersfoort for revealing his place of residence. Van der V. lives above a children's daycare center. He claims he did not know that there was a daycare center below his home in Amersfoort. The convicted pedophile has been living in a seniors' home since May. Residents of the area received a letter from the municipality about this on Saturday. Since then, there have been protests from residents, demanding that Van der V. be moved somewhere else. The residents are very worried about the fact that this man is living in their area. Five years ago, Sytze van der V. made the news when he was convicted of sexually abusing young boys. Protesters collected in front of Van der V.'s apartment building after staging a protest march. Mayor Bolsius has received a petition signed by 400 people. Van der V. made contact with RTV Utrecht to give a statement about his move to this particular location. "It doesn't matter. I'm not Robert M." Robert M. was convicted for sexually abusing babies and toddlers in a daycare center. This is not his taste, he tells RTV Utrecht. "Demonstrating is futile. It doesn't have any effect. I cannot and will not leave here. It isn't my problem", Van der V. says. "I expect that life will move on soon."
