NS increasing trains nationwide
The NS is planning to let trains run at least twice an hour nationwide.
From next year, every NS-station will have a train running ever 30 minutes until 8 p.m. NS is planning to introduce half-hour services in 2015 at stations on four routes where trains now only run once an hour, Spits writes.
The sprinter trains running between Arnhem-Ede-Wageningen, Breda-Dordrecht, Roosendaal-Dordrecht and Heerlen-Sittard will be doubled. The NS is promising that around 4000 travelers will benefit from this plan.
The NS also wants three intercity's to run ever hour between Amersfoort, Apeldoorn and Deventer.
People going out at night are also going to benefit from the new plan, as the night trains will be increased, and there will be better connections in the night trains already running. A new night train will be introduced on fridays, saturdays and sundays from Utrecht via Ede-Wageningen and Arnhem to Nijmegen.
Travelers to Germany will be able to take the 5:01 a.m. train from Amsterdam to Berlin. Also the Benelux train toBrussel will be running 16 times a day.
The plan is still waiting for approval from the National Consultation Consumer Interests Public Transportations (Locov).
