Police hunting Schiedam killer

Police are looking for witnesses and footage in the fatal shooting incident of Tuesday, February 11 on the Van Heuven Goedhartstraat in Schiedam. Shortly after the shooting many people gathered in the street to see what was going on.

Possibly someone saw or heard something that could be important in the investigation. Police are also interested in video footage people may have made with their smartphones. People who may know or may have heard something are invited to call 0900-8844 and ask for TGO Heuven in Rotterdam, or 0800-7000 (anonymous). A criminal intel team is available at 06-286 79 982. Smartphone images can be shared with the police here. A 37-year-old Schiedam resident was arrested on Wednesday, February 12, suspected of shooting and killing a 26-year-old man on the Van Heuvenstraat in Schiedam. On February 17, the magistrate ruled the suspect is to be detained for 14 days.
