dolphinarium Harderwijk Normally, dolphins procreate during the summer. 'Because the gestation period of a bottlenose dolphin is twelve months, most dolphins are born in the summer. This makes mother Molly's December baby special,' says a doctor at the Dolphinarium. Both dolphins will are doing well and the public can already admire the newborn and her mom in the dolphin basin. Molly is the third bottlenose dolphin in Harderwijk to give birth this year. Earlier Maaike and Nynke both gave birth to daughters. The dolphinarium wrote out a contest to name the baby. Names for mother Molly's baby girl can be sent in online until January 3rd.
