Coffee shop closed after shootout

The mayor of Amersfoort closed down a coffee shop, effective immediately, after a shootout. It was the second shootout at the coffee shop in a short time span.In the night from Sunday to Monday, around 3:20, an unknown man on a scooter opened fire on the Trenchtown coffee shop in the Krommestraat. He fired several shots with an automatic weapon, but nobody got hurt, according to local media. Smokers High Life (flickr) A month earlier the coffee shop, in the shopping street in Amersfoort, got shot at from a scooter too. Nobody got hurt then either. Mayor Bolsius is concerned about the safety around the coffee shop. The shootings raise many questions. The order for closure will stay in effect for at least three months. Meanwhile the police are looking for witnesses of the shooting. Five years earlier Trenchtown was also closed down. One of the owners was arrested for smuggling 1,300 kilo's of hashish. After reopening the coffee shop went by the name 'Suncity' for a few years, but later changed its name back to Trenchtown.
