Concerns increased home prostitution

An increase in the number of home prostitutes in Amsterdam concerns the CDA and SP deeply. The two parties asked Mayor Van der Laan to explain how he plans to address the problem, reports Metro. Last week an increase of 'service locations' in homes was established in the Nieuw West quarters in Amsterdam. The problem is not confined to the Nieuw West quarters, however, but has spread citywide, according to a spokesperson for the district. Amsterdam_Aerial

Wikimedia.commons Councilor Marijke Shahsavari (CDA) wants the mayor to clarify the situation. The legal prostitution is being scrutinized, but the developments in the illegal circuit are alarming. The SP is currently more concerned about the illegal residential prostitution than the legal prostitution in the Red Light District. Despite the government supervision there is a lot of abuse in the legal prostitution on the 'Wallen'. Peter Kwint (SP) wonders what it would mean for the status of the women in the residential prostitution?
