Leusden resident seriously assaulted for no reason

A 24-year-old man from Leusden, near Amersfoort, was severely beaten by a large group this weekend.The police are looking for witnesses.The man was pulled off his bike in Leusden, early Saturday morning, by a member of a group of 10 to 12 men. Reportedly there were also shots fired. The police sealed off the area for the investigation, but no weapon was found. A local from Onstwedde got drunk and aggressive and was arrested in Oude Pekela. He reportedly threatened and abused a police officer, and hit him in the face and body.
