Fines in nature reserves Drenthe

In a large-scale environmental control in Drenthe nature reserves about thirty people were fined. The fines pertained to illegal motor crossing, driving where it is prohibited, illegal waste dumping, and dogs that were not leashed. One of the dozens of inspectors was almost hit by a motorist he wanted to cite. The driver took off and has so far not been arrested. Drouwenerzand_gemeente_Borger-Odoorn

In an attempt to put an end to the nuisance several organizations joined forces Sunday. Forestry, Nature Reserves, the police and the provinces, are among those who participated. Commissioner Henk Brink hopes the initiative will have a preventive effect. The situation will be monitored and if necessary there will be a repeat of Sunday's initiative.
